Rats are probably one of the most despised creatures on earth, so the thought of this vermin running around your home and scurrying through your food is the stuff of nightmares.
Did you know that rats have been known to bite children to get bits and pieces of food off of their skin that was not washed off? That is pretty scary as rats can carry at least 10 different kinds of diseases, including bubonic plague, murine typhus, spirochetal jaundice, Leptospirosis, Rabies, ratbite fever, and bacterial food poisoning. Rats will also feast on the same foods that we eat, gnawing through boxes and chewing open plastic. Rats will contaminate more than ten times the amount of the food they eat with their hair, urine and feces. This will expose you and your family to a whole host of other diseases that are indirectly transmitted.
How did rats get into your home in the first place? Juvenile rats can get into an opening that is only the diameter of a quarter, and mice can get through an opening that a pencil can fit through. If you see (or hear) any of the following, call us at Quest Termite & Pest Services and we will come out and inspect your home inside and out. We will find all the access points the rodents are using to get in and rodent-proof your home.
Once your home is safe from the outside, we go to work on the rodents that are trapped in your home. We won't rest until your home is hazard-free. A female rat can mate as many as 500 times with various males during six hours of receptivity—a state she experiences about 15 times per year. Thus, a pair of brown rats can produce as many as 2,000 descendants in a year if left to breed unchecked.
It is imperative to get the issue under control and fast. At Quest Termite & Pest Services, we are experts in rodent exclusion and eradication.
